Eco Bay

Urban ecotone

The unique site in Putuo, nestled between the lush green mountains and South China Sea, draws its inspiration from the concept of ecotone - a transition area between different environments where two communities meet and integrate. The health and biodiversity of these transition areas are defined by how well the edges of the environment are interlocked with each other. The project thrives to create a perfect harmony between the built environment and nature - an URBAN ECOTONE, benefiting both the community and the environment.

Unique fisherman village

In recent years, a unique town space has been evolving in the Shenjiamen area, with weaved alleys and variation of massing. Along south Bingang Road, certain volumes of buildings have formed an authentic fisherman town. At the beginning of the project, the local government requested utilizing modern approaches to reproduce the style and feel of the original town space.

Water integration

Water is thoroughly integrated into the design with sacred water pools - allowing local catchment of water from the mountain slope, cascading down along the mountain and culminating in a canal through the main retail walk.
