Project Bloom

Iconic mixed-use gateway

A symbol of vitality, strength, and vibrancy - the native Rose Rugosa is the official flower of Shenyang. Drawing its inspiration from the Rose Rugosa, Project Bloom will embody those same qualities and create an iconic mixed-use gateway destination that welcomes locals and visitor alike. Located a mile southwest of the famous Hun River, and 5 miles southwest of the historic town center of Shenyang, Project Bloom is perched prominently along Nanjing Road. Long-considered to be one of seven gateways into the city's historical district, this major boulevard is both literally and figuratively a link between the old and new, the past, and the future.

Vibrant thoroughfare

To the immediate north of the Site is Changbai Road, a vibrant thoroughfare lined primarily with residential towers atop two stories of commercial offerings. To its south is Hunnan Road, a soon-to-be major corridor in which numerous developments are occurring, including: a municipal civic center; an elevated roadway plan for the expected increase in vehicular traffic; and an underground metro station at the corner of Hunnan and Nanjing Roads. When completed, these developments will significantly increase the land value of the site.

Guiding visitors through the picturesque park are meandering paths that bring guest to two dramatic entry points: the north entrance and the south entrance.  On the north side, the architectural language is a little more subdue but equally as significant.  The aim here is to integrate the already existing neighborhood with straight lines strategy, while still set itself apart.  Lastly is the west elevation, the more utilitarian side of the project. Even though it is less commercially valuable than the north and east façade, it is just as important that the architecture language stay harmony with the whole. Elevated on top of the petals are rooftop garden destination terraces with view toward the city.  Rising above the new 5 story lifestyle center are two distinctly different landmark towers.  The service apartment with its simple white horizontal striation, and the much taller office tower with the white vertical fin to extend its verticality as an iconic gateway present.
