Beursplein

Modern mixed-use TOD

Nearly fifty years after World War II, Rotterdam was still suffering from poor reconstruction. The city's busiest traffic artery severed downtown shopping into two separate, and weakened, districts. To heal the split and the city, JERDE collaborated with de Architecten Cie to create a pedestrian street below the six-lane traffic barrier.
