Luzhou City Master Plan
- Luzhou, China 2011
- Total Building Area: 1,634,200 sq m.
Aiming to preserve and enhance the life of the city, Western Luzhou Mixed-Use Project merges multiple facets of urban life into a concentrated hub of activity, consisting of residential and commercial districts, financial zones, landscaping, and an amusement park to breathe excitement and entertainment into this revitalized Central Business District of southern Sichuan. Visitors and residents are guided into the project through Jiu Cheng Avenue. Serving as the main thoroughfare through the site, Jiu Cheng Avenue runs through the center of the project to the underground bus stop and subway terminal, continuing either west to connect toward the city’s second ring road, or east across the Tuojiang River and toward the expanses of the existing Luzhou cityscape. This main boulevard also branches out into smaller streets that weave through the various districts, maintaining direct connectivity within the project and to the rest of the city. While economic activity is sure to flourish within the commercial/residential hybrid zone, social activity will emerge from the project’s main grand plaza—the City Plaza—serving as the point of entry for the millions travelling by bus or rail. The vibrancy of the amusement park will serve as an economic and social catalyst for the rest of the transformed city. Surrounding the park on the west end of the site are three luxury community residential zones, amusement park hotels, and bustling office towers.
